We are a diverse group, all sharing a common enthusiasm for women's boots, and the women who wear them. The phrase "go-go boot" is a rather ambiguous one. I’ve seen it used to describe anything from short ankle boots to thigh-highs; from pull-on boots to lace-ups to boots with zippers, and almost any kind of heel you could imagine. Strictly speaking, there was an original go-go boot, created by Andres Courreges in the 60's, which was white, low heeled, and short (rising a bit above the ankles). Since then, the term has come to mean different things to different people. The qualifier "go-go" generally refers to dancing and my broad definition of go-go boots is any pair of boots that could be mistaken for go-go boots when worn on the dance-floor of a swinging 60's or groovy 70's nightclub.
For instance, many styles of expensive knee-high leather dress boots can look quite elegant and conservative when worn with certain outfits, but when worn with a retro mini-dress or hotpants in a club, they instantly become go-go boots.
